I am having a great time as I reminisce about my Woodstock experience and also extatic about the release of my debut CD entitled, "Pardon Mwa"//Donnie Mayer//AM Records, PopRock, August 1, 2009. To realize a long sought after dream, which very well might not have happened had I not gone to Woodstock.

A friend and I hitchiked from Arlington, Virginia and just getting there was quite an experience. The last 20 miles or so as we approached the farm, cars were stopping and going and everytime they would start moving thousands would just jump on the cars hoods or anywhere and ride until they stopped again and then we would walk, until the cars started up again, passing bottles of wine and doobies, it was wild and fun.

The concert, musicians, the people , the peace, the love and harmony of it all; well it was just incredible to be 15 years old and experience something like that. I'll never forget it, it will always remain in my heart and mind as the best three days of my life.

It seemed we (the Hippies) had a collective voice, and we were gonna change the world, and I truely believe in many ways we and the music did just that. My interest in music had become more than an obsession as music seemed to me to be the noblest aspect to life at all.
